There are a lot of luggage storage services out there like LuggageHero, Bounce, and NannyBag. Most of these allow you to store your bags at partnered cafes, shops, and restaurants. Luggit offers a slightly different service: they will pick your luggage up from you in one location and drop it off to you wherever you want.

(Heads up! Luggit have offered Portugalist readers a 10% discount when you book through this page. Promo code PORTUGALIST automatically applied).

Let’s say you’re visiting Lisbon. You’re arriving at Entrecampos train station in the morning but won’t be able to check into your Airbnb until 3 pm. You could use LuggageHero or another service to find a cafe or shop that will allow you to store your bags, but then you’d have to return to that cafe or shop later. You’d also have to transport your bags to your accommodation yourself, which could be a pain if you’re taking public transport.

Instead, you could arrange for Luggit to pick your bags and suitcases up from you and deliver them to your Airbnb after you’ve checked in. Simply arrange a pick-up and drop-off time through the app or online and that’s it.

Ease of Use

Luggit is fairly simple to use. You put in your pick-up location and time and drop-off location and time. On the day, you’ll probably get some messages from the Luggit team who will let you know who your delivery driver is and how to spot them. If you need to change any of the times or details, you can easily communicate through the app.

If you download the app, you can also track your keeper in the same way as you can track an approaching Uber driver.

Given that your ‘keeper’ has to come and meet you, you should allow for them to be a few minutes late or early.

Price

Luggit is slightly more expensive than using another service like LuggageHero, but this makes sense given that they’re also transporting your luggage. If you want to store a small suitcase for 6 hours, expect to pay around €13. In comparison, storing a bag with LuggageHero would cost around €8.50.

Note: there may be slightly higher pricing if you want your bags picked up or dropped off at an airport.

Insurance

A standard Luggit booking comes with €500 insurance per bag, but you can easily (and affordably) upgrade to €1,200 worth of insurance if you have high value items such as laptops or cameras.

Availability

Luggit is available in Lisbon, Porto, Vienna, Prague and Barcelona. The service is available for most of the day (8 am – 8 pm) and you can store your bags over multiple days.
