Hi, great site you have here, thank you. We’re thinking of visiting Lisbon late September and going on to a coastal area for a week thereafter. We like to soak up local culture, visit places of interest and enjoy local restaurants and wine. Any recommendations? Many thanks.

      Hi Norah,

      Thanks for getting in touch.

I need to do a blog post on it, but the beaches in the Serra Arrabida are beautiful. Setubal, nearby, is also quite a pleasant town.

If you want to go a bit further, the Alentejo Coast is a part of Portugal that’s beloved by the Portuguese. You’ll find good food and wine here.

I also really like the Western Coast of the Algarve around the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. There are some beautiful beaches along here and it’s only a few hours from Lisbon.

You could maybe do a road trip and stay at a few places?
