June is probably the best summer month to visit the Algarve. It’s warm, but nowhere near as July and August are on on the Algarve. And, although it’s summer time, June is one of the most affordable summer months on the Algarve. There’s plenty going on too, making it a great month to visit this part of Portugal.
Reasons to visit the Algarve in June
- It’s warm, and isn’t that one of the main reasons that most people visit the Algarve? Expect temperatures ranging from the early 20s until the early 30s. It’s not unheard of for it to reach into the mid 30s as well.
- It’s not as warm as July and August, and that’s a good thing. It’s not uncommon for temperatures in July and August to reach the late 30s, which can be too hot to do very much.
- June is slightly quieter than the other months. Although plenty of people visit the Algarve in June, it’s nowhere near as busy as it is in August and the end of July.
- It’s still possible to find cheap accommodation (and flights as well) as June is considered mid-season rather than the high-season. It won’t be anywhere as cheap as the non-summer months, but you should still expect to get much better value than July and August.
