NIFPortugal.pt is a new website that promises to get your Portuguese NIF (Numero de Identificacao Fiscal) in as little as 14 days. Most NIF services charge anywhere between €150 and €500 for this service so, given that NIFPortugal.pt only charges €69 (with the code PORTUGALIST), it has attracted the attention of those thinking about moving to Portugal. It’s even cheaper than Bordr and E-Residence.com. 

However, the problem with NIFPortugal.pt (not to be confused with nifportugal.com) is that the site doesn’t have many reviews (although the reviews are positive so far). Bordr.io and E-Residence.com both have hundreds and even thousands of reviews on sites like TrustPilot. 

Another notable factor was the speed. NIFPortugal.pt takes around 14 days to obtain a NIF whereas Bordr takes less than a week and E-Residence.com can be as quick as 3 days (if you pay for the premium option).

Currently, NIFPortugal.pt only offers one service which is obtaining a Portuguese NIF number. 

Reviews

As mentioned, there are few reviews for NIFPortugal.pt right now. One Portugalist reader commented on Portugalist stating that she had tried using the service but hadn’t had any communication from the company.

“I applied NIF through the website offered on this website: NIFPortugal.pt €70 – Up to 7 Days. I have not heard from the office. Not even a confirmation that they received my application. What should I do? Thank you for your advised.”

We followed up with Rhonda and she did receive her NIF in the end, but felt that communication from the company was a bit poor.

If customer service and communication is important to you, reviews suggest that Bordr is excellent in this regard. If speed is important to you, E-residence can get a NIF in as little as 3 days (although, at less than a week, Bordr isn’t far behind). But, if you’re willing to forgo communication and speed in return for a lower cost, NIFPortugal.pt is a very affordable option.
