Tied to the Portuguese minimum wage, updated annually. You need 3–6 months of bank statements showing this landing consistently — a pattern, not just a balance.

Savings / means of support
12× the minimum wage. Income and savings are assessed together. A file at the bare minimum is legally arguable, but one with a comfortable buffer is easier to approve.
Supporting financial documents
Bank statements, pension letters, dividend statements, rental contracts, proof of investment income. Translation required if not in Portuguese or English. Recent statements are expected — showing a history of deposits, not a one-off balance.
